Environmental Sedimentology and Ichnology Lab, Western University

Field-tested sediment and trace-fossil analysis, bridging academic research and practical answers for industry, government, and university partners.

WHO WE ARE

Reading the record written in sediment

5+Analytical service lines
7Industries served
15+Peer-reviewed studies

The Shchepetkina Lab is the Environmental Sedimentology and Ichnology Lab in the Department of Earth Sciences at Western University. We study how sediments form, move, and preserve the activity of living organisms, from modern tidal flats and estuaries to the ancient rock record.

That same expertise powers a set of laboratory services for clients who need their sediment, soil, core, and water samples characterized accurately and explained clearly, whether the goal is a regulatory submission, a resource assessment, an engineering study, or a research project.
